Wow Rachel, Wow!

The Final 12 X Factor contestants have each had a makeover ahead of this weekend’s first live tv show. Let the natural beauty shine through girl!

We think you’ll agree that Rachel looks absolutely stunning. She has made an incredible transformation from busy Mum to gorgeous women, and by the looks of it, loves her new look.

Rachel told us, “I really enjoyed the photo shoot and I loved being pampered and looked after. When would I ever be able to do all of this”?

The headscarf that covered Rachel’s head in the auditions has gone and in its place is a sleek new hairstyle. Rachel grinned as she admitted, “I felt a bit self conscious when my make-up was finished but after a while I got used to being in front of the camera and enjoyed myself!”

“I hear people have been saying nice things about me on the comments bit of the website so I’d like to say thanks to everyone who’s been giving me compliments, that’s great!”

Justice will hopefully be seen to be done - there is no other winner apart from Rachel.
A true inspiration - triumph through the face of adversity.
A phenomenal voice as well as a big heart.
A ray of sunshine and a breath of fresh air - a priceless gem.
I cannot wait to vote for her tomorrow and every saturday in the run up to the final.
A beautiful woman on the inside as well as on the out.
This will be the start of something wonderful for her and her kids - bring it on!!

    hi
i think rachel needs to drop the attitude. she already thinks she is a star, doesnt deserve to be up there, push the public too far and they will turn against you

    Message to Rachel,
I loved when you sang the snow patrol song. You won many fans who are just wanting to see a repeat of this. It moved me so much. I want to see this again. Do not take it for granted. You have fans because you move people with your soulful voice. Play to your strengths like all previous winners have done before you. Soul is your thing and it moves people when you sing soul. This is what you are born to do, so do your thing. People who have lost it have started trying to prove they can are not just stereotyped by a certain music, before they have even established a fan base. It is the soul that has made you win fans so stick to it. When you win then you can start experimenting. If you keep trying to prove to whoever that you are versatile or whatever, you could find yourself out of the competition. SING SOUL. Sing with soul and also ditch the trousers and wear a lovely elegant dress.

RACHEL - after tonight’s performance you have shown the nation you have got that special something it takes to win the X Factor. I really think that you have a long and brilliant singing career ahead of you and your children will be so proud of their mum. I have seen many wonderful singers such as Nina Simone and Ella Fitzgerald and I believe you are up there with these great stars! You have shown us how it is possible to change the course of your life and so you are a good role model to today’s youths. Well done Rachel!

  12. Valerie on October 28th, 2008 5:03 pm

Hi Rachel bet you never thought of me Valerie well girl good luck and we are watching you every week Glenroy says hello we how live in Leeds.

  13. Jayne on October 29th, 2008 10:40 pm

Rachel I adore your voice and I am sure that I am not speaking out of turn here, but you have got to drop the attitude - to me your like a loose cannon. I know all this is n luckew to you, and no one deserves a break more than you. But you need to show an elegant side, when your judged by the judges take on board what they say and thank them for their comments. The public can make and break you. If they take a dislike your a gonna. Anyway I wish you all the luck in the work and I hope all your dreams come true xx

  14. Zoe on November 2nd, 2008 7:07 pm

I think you are amazing. Ever since I heard you at the audition I have been with you every step of the way. You deserve it more than ever, just PLEASE pick a song which appeals to the public, and you will shine through !

  15. jane on November 9th, 2008 7:22 pm

rachel i think your fantastic i dont think we have seen the best of you yet i think your voice is better than any of the other girls you have just not had the chance to prove it only on one week you tell danny to spend a little more time with you because you have the same sort of taqllent that amy winehouse has and you would wipe the floor with the others and simon knows that you go girl and sing some soul take care your fantasticxxxxxxx

  16. peter on November 10th, 2008 9:49 pm

Rachel you are fantastic your voice is unique and all these haters are nothing but cowards who hide behind computer screens sprouting their garbage.

There are certian people who are in this years show tha t I do not like but I do not hide behind a computer screen and slag them off that is bad style.

I absolutely adore you and every saturday night I say to myself “please God let Rachel do good tonight”

You are another Billy Holliday, Ella fitzgerald, Aretha franklyn, someone with real soul and conviction last saturday was fantastic real emotion in your voice infact I think that you have only had 1 bad week and that was disco week.

Just wanted to say one more thing I realy admire you for getting off the drugs. It shows you are a determined character. Someone who is very dear to me is trying to get off crack cocaine, so I know what you must have gone through.

Just keep believing inyourself and ignore all the dickheads that cannot say things to your face you are worth a millon of them. llok froward to buying your music and hope you reply to this and one day I would like to meet you.

    Peter

  17. cin on November 11th, 2008 12:28 am

rachel, keep doing what you love doing best, but as well as winning you need to prepare for the worst, and so longs you are ready for either you’ll be ok.remember it doesn’t always mean you’ll do better by winning…look at lemar, he’s doing better than most winners, so chin up girl we wnt to see you preform

  18. No1Lucian on November 13th, 2008 2:48 pm

Hang in there Rachel. The heat is on so you really need to perform BIG this week! I know the pressure must be heavy on you but try to focus. Pick some big soul diva songs and you’ll have ‘em crying for more!!!! Love ya girl but you gotta be strong to make it to the end!

  19. Nique on November 15th, 2008 10:24 pm

Girlfriend i have no idea if you even read this but im gonna say it anyways.
Plleaaassee sing Lauryn Hill - Killing me softly or Tina Turner-River deep mountain high next week
I can hear your voice in both those singers. Its not just about Amy Winehouse and lets face it AMy grew up listening very keenly to Lauryn Hill - im sure you can hear that too.
You are so unique and its hard for them to put you in a category - but you know what you are in one all of your own.
Youve done soo well to come this far choose your songs wisely love.
    Take care and
    All the best
    Niqsx

  20. Sophia on November 15th, 2008 10:38 pm

Rachel, keep your head up girl, you are doing really well. Keep smiling and please do not forget to thank your fans and stay confidence
I love Mary J Blige but I am not sure if your style of voice is suited to her songs. A little advice, why don’t you try singing a song by an artist with a similar voice to your own, such as Macy Gray, Duffy, Amy Winehouse or Corrin Bailey Rae.
Mary J Blige is my favourite artist but she has a specific audience and I am not convince it is the X factor audience.
    Luv ya Rachel

  21. Mary in France on November 17th, 2008 10:19 am

I love you Rachel, I do hope so much that you will come through. You send shivers up my spine when you sing. Please make some recordings if you can, you have many fans who would be happy to buy something by you. I am an old lady of 73 and have heard a lot of singers in my life. You are right up there with my favourites.. Nina Simone, Ella, Lady Day… Good luck on Saturday.

  22. Leigh and Irene on November 17th, 2008 6:03 pm

Rachel, We think you have the most wonderful voice. You have been given so much advice from others and I am no expert but when you did the Amy winehouse number it was much better than the original. You have a powerful yet easy quality to your voice that really comes through when you were comfortable with the song.
It must be a really frantic time for you with so many people pushing you hard. Please know that you are loved so keep smiling. Even if you don’t win overall (’cos the general public has made some very strange choices already) you have already won in our hearts. Leigh and Irene

  23. Jessica on November 20th, 2008 2:58 pm

Hi Rachel, love u but i am going to ask you a big favour, drop the attitude and sing every song like ur in the final….let the people that ave negitive things to say about u be put to shame.Everyone well not everyone but some people looking for u to go every week, u might not win but sing to be even in the top 3. 25. Mary in France on November 22nd, 2008 11:49 pm

Oh Rachel, you were robbed, but please do not give up, someone will come along and ask you to record. We cannot be robbed of your wonderful voice - keep at it, you are so good.

  26. Valli on November 23rd, 2008 1:36 am

    Rachel.
You are a born fighter. I am a mum and a nana and I well over the hill but I could so easily have been you as could any of my children. You fought back - don’t let the result send you back where you were. We are rooting for you. In our 60’s we may be but I know how hard life can be. DON’T ever go back - just go forward.
    Valli

  27. sheila mcneil on November 23rd, 2008 9:09 am

Keep on going. You were the most original of all the contestants and have a great voice. You have benefited enormously from the voice coaching and style advice. I wish you and your family all the best and hope that you go on to great things. You can do it.

  28. Mary in France on November 23rd, 2008 4:19 pm

I find I cannot get you out of my mind, and having watched the whole show again today I am more convinced than ever that there will be great things in store for you. Do make all your appearances on the tour count. Good luck brave girl and love to you and your family.

  29. Sally on November 23rd, 2008 6:07 pm

Rachel, God bless you. You made me stop and stare when you sang in the sing off week 7, tonight.

As well as an amazing voice, you have a beautiful spirit and God will see you through. Keep praying, keep praising, keep practising your singing, keep living graciously and keep on raising your kids well.

I can’t wait to see how well you do.

    xxx

  30. Eka on November 24th, 2008 12:33 pm

    Hey Rachel,

Just wanted to commend you for being open about your personal life throughout the competition. (thats the reason simon picked you, beacuse of that pure honesty)

I know that you feel sad about leaving, but you have to believe that God has a bigger and better purpose for you. You also have to know that this is only the beginning of good things to come. God loves you more than your own family, whether you believe it or not, and the exposure alone you have had from being on the X Factor means my darling you got further than how many other millions who tried out-What an awesome acheivement! The final prize is only the icing on the cake, its those who leave a legacy that people remember.

Your life story alone has touched more hearts than you could probably imagine. This is the time for you to seek God your Father in Heaven for your next steps. The bible says Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all His righteousness and all other things will be added.

As for your children, God is a rewarder of those who earnestly seek to know Him personally, and they were all gifts from Him to you. Also believe that restoration can take place, for you and your children in the future.

You done well and I am extremely happy for you.

My darling the sky is the limit for you now, you only have to believe.

lots of love and God bless,

    Eka

  32. Phillipah on November 24th, 2008 7:35 pm

Rachel. This week you were sensational. You did not go because of your performance and it means You have it. You had a wonderful chance to confirm it in the X Factor. Keep going. Dont let people put you down becoz of your past. People will always throw stones but God wipes the slate clean. Look forward, You can do it, YES YOU CAN.

  33. Carol on November 27th, 2008 1:09 pm

Rachel, I’ve never written a fan letter in my life & I’m a 64yr old grandma of 8 but, I just had to let you know how great I think you are.

You have the best voice I’ve heard in years & at my age I’ve heard plenty ha ha!!

Take no notice of all the rubish press out there, you’ll have the last laugh when you have the number one spot in the charts.

Then you’ll have the pleasure of refusing to be interviewed by the gutter snipes.

I’ll be first in line for your first solo hit.

    Luv Grandma Cas xx

You know something… Rachel was the best contestant this year on the x-factor and I was so disappointed that she did not sort out her attitude for the live show. Unfortunately, you just cannot be yourself on these shows. It is a business.

I love your voice girl and I think you as a person are brilliant and a breath of fresh air. But your attitude got the better of you on the show and from the people I spoke to this affected their voting on saturday nights. You will have the opportunities but you got to be less fresh and more hush to make the most of them.

God bless and all the best to you for the future. Don’t waste that voice. It was better than I have heard for a long time.

  36. elaine on December 28th, 2008 7:02 pm
